you're putting just the filename.bmp in between the tags, right? Not the whole directory it sits on?

I copied it straight from your reply and went the post window hit IMG hit paste hit IMG* and submit


the second try I browsed to the file and then did the above

I did use the original pic as it got downloaded from email. I tried downloading it again and it would only let me save as bmp, not giving me any other choice. Here it is again:

Step 2: post reply, browse to zapper.bmp and have it ready to load.
Step 3: type [img]zapper.bmp[/img]

Also don't have more the one "." in the file name. just mypic.jpg not mypic.12.jpg. That might confuse it.

LOL. Think you were doubling up on the img tags maybe? Or forgetting to load along with typing the name & tags? Try it with a bunch of other pics till you get the hang of it.

(Just make sure they're in proper format this time.)

Alright I can accecpt that when I resized in Paint that it ended up as a bmp maybe

But here is the deal, my original was like a 640X480 150KB straight from the cam to the PC

How do I choke it down to avoid all of this nonsence?

Straight from the cam to the pc? Are you sure it's in a proper jpg format? Could be lying to you.... ?

Try this: just open it in any paint program and save it again as jpg. But don't just hit save, like, browse to the actual format and save as. See if that fixes it.

lol. So it was the cam that was the culprit huh? Ah well, live and learn.

I think maybe. I have had problems before and I always thought that it was unsupported file types like cad drawings and such. I have also thought that the dozen or so different photo softwares that I had where botching things up. I am going to do a few more for luck.
