  1. Is it possible to change the default MPEG decoder?

I have at least 3 of them installed, and the one that is currently default, is horrible. When i open an MPEG-2 file in Windows Media Player, it crashes. It can decode MPEG-1 okay, but I need MPEG-2 support.
The problem decoder is called MainConcept MPEG something something

I also have WinDVD and PowerDVD, which I assume both have their own decoders.

How could I set the WinDVD or PowerDVD decoder as the default?

I know i can change the preferred decoder with Media Player Classic, but I would like to have the ability to view my files under any media player of choice, which may include Windows Media Player and Real Player

    *sigh* ............................................

Why don't you post the solution for all the forum-searchers out there with the same problem ?
