Even if I mute all of my audio card volume controls, my speakers have been making a sputtering white noise sound whenever I download or even click to a new URL.
Anyone? TIA![]()

cheap mobo and/or speakers. you're basically hearing the 'noise' given off by the data stream. this is why wired are shielded and twisted - to prevent interference with each other from this noise.

I have heard of this problem before, though I don't remember the solution. It could be RF leakage or interference from the MB, but that is rare. Possibly in BIOS, Spread Spectrum settings? Sorry.
Have you tried upgrading your MB and sound card drivers?
If you have on-board sound, you might go to a inexpensive PCI sound card.
