  1. I've got an .avi file that plays fine in Windows Media Player, but when I try to convert it to an mpeg through TMPGenc, I get audio only.

I know enough that a video file won't play without the proper codec installed, but being that WMP recognizes it & TMPGenc doesn't, this has me confused.

Try increase the directshow property in tmpgenc. And then check so you see the video in the file->preview in tmpgenc.

  3. I just raised DirectShow's Priority to 2, didn't work. Being that its an .avi file, I also tried raising AVI VFW & AVI2, still no luck.

Been so long since I've had this problem, I didn't think to run it through GSpot (which I just did now). It says I need the DivX 3 Low-Motion video codec.

Well, rather than be a stooge, I think I did a good thing by searching for it. I ended up here http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html & downloaded their Build 8 codec pack...now TMPGenc recognizes the video...

But it wants to output the movie as individual elementary streams, rather than the System setting I already have chosen. Now what's wrong??
