How to shrink dvd movies?

How can I shrink DVD movies that i have downloaded off the internet, i have dvdshrink and what happens is that the VOB files are about 1.8GB long but when i try to burn with nero they go up to like almost 4gb taking most of the DVD+R's space.

if you have a dvd with vob,ifo,bup files:

sounds like you are using nerovision express and it want to reencode the dvd.

yes i use nero vision express, and right before i start burning it starts reencoding, but i see an option where it says burn at once, should i click that? or is there another way to burn it without nero having to reencode it?

thanks a lot for the link above, im going to start doing it like that now, but what if i wanted to add chapters and menu with video stuff like that to the project. is there another guide for that?
