Whenever I have tried to copy the movie only with DVdFab Gold I always get subtitles when I try to watch the movie.

Obviously there is no menu options on the backup disc to switch them off so how can I make sure they are not on in the first place? I have unticked all the subtitles in the options screen keeping only the main title and audio ticked but still the same thing happens.

I had that happen to me with one that you could not get rid of the subtitles. What I did was to trim them of using TmpGenc Encoder.

Use IFOEdit or PGCEdit to turn them off before you burn

You should be able to use the subtitle button on the remote control to turn them off.

I leave English subtitles on the disk. But then I'm older and my hearing is starting to get a little worse- I find it easier to hit the subtitle button than to back it up 2 or 3 times when I can't understand something that was said. If you're in your 40s or 50s and plan to watch the same movie in 10-20 years you might want subtitles available.
