  1. Hallo everybody

Last weekend I setup a firewire card (pinnacle dazzle, 2 ext + 1 int ports), along with pinnacle studio 9 quickstart (1 cd) and a content dvd both bundled with the card. Then, I notoced that this particular version of Studio 9 had limited features versus a full version (only vcd creation) and therefore I installed the full version of Pinnacle Studio 8 (which I had) and then I uninstalled Pinnacle Studio 9 Quickstart (initially not content dvd which featured useful templates και themes, but then I also unisntalled the content dvd).

From this moment on, (i.e. since the setup of the firewire card and the installing/uninstalling of Studio versions),whenever I try to shut down my PC from windows (XP pro, SP2), the PC actually restarts 1-2 seconds after shutdown (i.e. the PC actally acts as if I had pressed the restart button in winXP)!!!

Could someone give me some guidance as to why this happens? At first I thought I had done something to the motherboard when I setup the firewire card (on a PCI slot) but I was very careful not to do so! Any ideas?

Actually, it's only two places - first and last link are the same. Otherwise, sage advice.

  3. Pull the plug or turn off on the back after shut down, wait see if it comes on by itself if does could be a stuck switch if not the change power settings in control panel > power options specially what to after power failure and under advance "when I push the start button" change it see if it does what it should. If all these testing and figuring going to take more than 2.5 ~ 3.0 hours or days on what to do , think about reformating and reinstalling windows.
