DvDAuthorGUI - text based subtitle stream ?

i have the m2v and the ac3 demuxed from original dvd title. but how to get a TEXT BASED subtitle stream to add to my re-authored dvd project using DvDAuthorGUI ? thanx

You rip it from your original DVD with SubRip.

You may also demux the subtitles as sup stream (with projectx or vobedit) from the original DVD and use this one. But don't forget to check the colors...

tried subrip. but dvdauthorgui gave same error it always does when creating dvd starts...ie, some retarded error about subs being wrong. i'll give vob thingy a try

Retarded or not, the error message is probably important. Let me know what it is and I will try to help. As for the readme, it has not been updated to reflect the use of .sup subtitles. As borax suggested, use projectx or something similar to rip the subtitles to .sup format.

I don't want to bother you, but would you try my GUI for dvdauthor too? It would be very interesting for me if my sup2png program can deal with this 'problem' sup file...

@borax, i'll give it a try. might take me a while though. the way i am getting the m2v, ac3 & sup files is demuxing from dvd with rejig, using settings as below. according to guides i read this is supposed to work.
