    Canopus ADVC-100
    Hauppauge Wintv Go

    Depends on what you want to do. "Best" doesn't describe your goals. "Best" could cost you thousands.

    ADVC-100 converts to DV format

    Hauppauge Wintv Go converts to uncompressed unless your computer is fast enough for real time encoding.

    Add to your list the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250/350 (also PVR-150 but see complaints) that realtime encodes in hardware to DVD usable MPeg2.

    Also look at the ADS Pyro AV/Link. Cost about $160.00 and will do everything the Canopus will do for $100.00 less..
