  1. hi,

a buddy of mine was given the task of taking a bunch of single project on different DVD-r's, and putting them together. All the DVD's are unecrypted (projects from a class).

He wants to bring them into FCP, so he can add chapter markers beforing bringing them into DVD SP.....how can he do this with the least amount of quality loss?

    Thanks

  2. DVDSP can add chapter marks directly to the imported .m2v video files, so best quality will come from ripping the original discs into separate .m2v and .ac3 files, load into DVDSP, add markers and whatever else, and build a new VIDEO_TS folder with these materials.

Unless the new disc is substantially larger than 4.4 GB, there should be no quality loss at all. If it is larger and he has DVD2OneX, he can run the resulting folder through DVD2OneX to squash it down to correct size for a single-layer disc.

  3. I forgot to mention that the purpose of bringing them into FCP was so that there could be a play all part, where all of the projects play.....sorry for that

DVDxDV will rip the content to DV-Stream. Should be no problem at that point.
