What are the optimal settings for encoding mpeg1 for a cdrom that plays the clips through Windows Media Player. I'm playing around with it and my original settings result in a weird green thing appearing on black backgrounds..

I just want the video to look like it does on my Mac on a PC..

    Thanks

  2. You may use the VCD preset and use the resulting MPG file. You may use a different width x height than the default one if you like.

Which VCD preset do your recommend. There are two and one is Mpeg1 and the other is Mpeg2.. ffmpeg and the other one..

  4. Both will work well, VCD ffmpeg encodes faster.

How do I stop the evil black lines from appearing either side of the frame? I suspect I'm doing something wrong in terms of width/height..

The width/height of the original .avi is 720x576 and I want it to be 352x288

    Thanks

I got rid of the black lines either side by setting the autosize to unconstrained.. Yay me.
