goog pc-tv card was recommended. I tried and it would not work. It brought system to 100% resources. No tech support info came with it. I thought I found their site and asked. I got no reply. I tried again several times, but never again found their site. Shop recommended to reinstall my xp pro. I did so and got the same 100% resources when I ran the goog.

Do you have any recommendations as to why or what other card I can try.

I so wanna record TV onto my HDD. I really do not even care about watching TV on the pc. My plan is to burn DVDs.

    Tks,
    Paul

Please provide more information. What card are you using to capture, with what connectors, what software, and what are your system specs.

  5. Look at LISTS>Capture Cards on the left of your screen.Click on "rating" to show the best rated capture cards by users and pick one you can afford.
For software I use VirtualDub for capture to AVI(Very good tool, recommended) and WinDVR for MPEG capture.

For capturing from any source, I would recommend more free hd space (ideally you should have a dedicated hd for data only), and at least 512mb of ram.
