  1. I have concert footage in DivX format and I want to put it on my iPod so I need a way to just get the audio track off of the movie, preferrably in .mp3 format.

Is there any utility that can do this for me?

    Thanks a lot guys!

  2. 1 thing is I don't want to lose any quality, I think the audio stream is already encoded in mp3, so I don't want to convert the divx to mpeg and demux, because I'll lose some audio quality. I just want to extract the audio.

    Thanks!!!

You can use virtualdub and click FILE - SAVE WAV. That will save the audio as a wav file from which you can convert into any format you need.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Here's a couple of guides for extracting to WAV first:

    Virtualdub - http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/ExtractAudio.htm
    Virtualdubmod - https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=837#837

You could do either of these and then use your favorite software to convert WAV to MP3, or you should be able to open the AVI file directly in GoldWave and export to MP3.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. Why convert to WAV if the audio's already MP3, which is what he wants?

First open the AVI in GSpot to confirm it's MP3. If so, then open the AVI in VDubMod, clicking "No" if it gives you that stupid warning. Then go Streams->Streams List->Demux, give it a name, and Save.

Of course. If it is MP3 you could just demux.
