    I have this movie that is XviD and AC3 sound. I can't play the movie and it works fine with the picture showing and sound playing but when I got to VirtualDub it shows that the ausio stream is unknown. I have included a pic showing what I mean. When I try to decode the audio stream to standard PCM vitualdub tells me it can't find a decoder to do so. I have tried AC3 Filter so far and virtualdub still shows the audio stream as unknown. Can anyone point to me a AC3 codec that won't do this in virtualdub? Thx

    Try the AC3 ACM Decompressor in the tools section. Install then reboot. VDub will then play your file.

    Thx I'll give it a try. For some reason DivxToDVD converts the movie but the audio is out of sync and I think deompressing the audio to either PCM or MP3 solves this.
