Everytime i dub off of the hard drive..it seems that i get about 2-3 1 second freezes randomly on the dvd. i dont know what the deal is..the video just freezes at a random time when dubbing to dvd..and this happens about 2-3 times per dvd that im dubbing. but i do not have this problem when going straight from tv to dvd...only when dubbing off the hard drive..i have tried numorous brands of discs so i know its not the discs..i have also tried formatting the hard drive and no luck. any help would be super appreciated. thank you.

  6. Are you saying that you are doing a normal speed dub and can see this happening during the dubbing process or are you saying that the finished product, the dvd disk created by dubbing, has this problem?

  7. I just purchased the DMREH50 and I've noticed when I dub from the hard disk to a DVD-RW disk, and then play the disk on my computers LG DVD drive, the playback is jerky. Is this the same problem you are having? If it is a firmware issue, there isn't a fix for it yet because my EH50 would have the latest version, since I just bought it.

I also noticed that when I play DVD movies, darker scenes tend to flicker between lighter and darker. It's annoying enough that I use my older Panasonic RP62 for movie playing. Have you noticed this flickering issue with your EH50?

i dub in Flex mode and XP mode and i can see it during the process of dubbing, and it also comes out on the finished dvd.

  9. Have you tried playing the same video sequence from the hard drive to your TV without dubbing? Is the problem there even when not dubbing?

  11. Try these tests. The EH50 should have come with a free dvd-ram disk. Dub to it the same way you normally do. Does the problem still occur? If yes, note the exact places where the errors occur, then dub to the same disk again. If there are errors, do they occur in the exact same spots?

  12. As I mentioned above, the problem occured for me when I tried playing the dubbed disk from the EH50 on my computer. I was able to fix the problem by updating the DVD decoder on the PC. Microsoft has a video decoder checkup utility available that can tell you if your PC's video decoder is up to date. Mine wasn't, so I went to ATI's site and downloaded a newer decoder driver. Now my dubbed disks work fine.

the errors are always at different spots

  14. Are you using the EH50 for playback in these tests or a different player? If yes, check if any of these conditions exist

Do you have a known good quality, non-copyrighted dvd? If yes, transfer it to your hard drive, then dub as you normally do to the dvd-ram. Do you still see any problem?

i have tried the finalized dvds in various players and the problem still occurs. it is not during chapter changes...it just during random times while dubbing...when i edit out commercials i do it right as the screen fades to black going into and out of commercials...so if there is a freeze during that time you cannot notice ...this problem is just at random times during dubbing.

Sounds like you've done enough research and should return/exchange the unit.

its just not when dubbing to discs its also during normal hard drive playback...so i dont think it has anything to do with media brands.
