Transfer the file to your hard drive, then rename the extension to .mpg and it will be a compliant mpg file

I tried to transfer one DVD and halfway it stops. The DVD seem to be OK as I can read from my panasonic DVD recorder.

I tried using another DVD and it was ok. But when I try to read I have inconsistent colours and no sound. Does that mean I still need a codec?

  4. TMPGenc doesn't fully understand the slightly different data format used in .vro files. Try opening the .vro with Womble, which does understand .vro files and can effortlessly convert to .mpg.

Incidentally, if you just change the file extension of a .vob or .vro file to .mpg your audio will typcally be out of sync of several seconds. .vob and .vro files use header information which throws the audio out of sync if you just play it as though it were an .mpg file. Use womble to convert from .vob or .vro to .mpg, which eliminates the header info and preserve audio sync.
