I have few divx movies i would like to create a dvd so that i could fit more than 1movie in 1 dvd with menu so i can choose the movie to play.
i tried using avi2dvd and encoded 2 divx movies and made dvd video then i used TMPGEnc author to make menu and chapters but it gives me this http://tinypic.com/equk5h.jpg[/url]

You've encoded a NTSC sized mpeg @ PAL frame rate - no go with that one. Go back and reencode - either at pal frame size and rate, or NTSC size and rate.

You have NTSC movies but you have set the project to PAL. Change the project format to NTSC and you will be able to continue.

Well, yes, that's a possibility too - If a NTSC DVD is your goal...

    Here's the error:

I think you'll both find that the first movie added was PAL, and the OP has then tried to add an NTSC clip to the same track, which is of course no go in TDA since it sets the defaults for the track to whatever the first clip added uses.

Three ways to get around this - encode one of the clips to the standard of the other file, or use DVDPatcher to trick TDA into thinking the files are the same format / standard, or use other authoring software that isn't so pedantic on dvd compliance like dvd-lab.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  6. Thanks guys, ididnt even think about that. one of the avi is ntsc resolution and other was pal. so i am going to convert the ntsc to pal while encoding. but this doesnt solve my problem. when i will have 2 ready dvd videos both of them will be 4.7 gb. will TDA take care of that?.

No. You have to encode each source file at a bit rate low enough to fit both on a single layer DVD.

    There's a whole section in the Tools section - https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=1#1 .

I prefer either of these two:

This is where trial and error leads to experience in "knowing" whether bitrates will be acceptable or not. I'd suggest that you do a few sample encodes of around 1 min or so and see if the quality is acceptable.
    If in doubt, Google it.

http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/AVI2DVD.htm tells you everything you need to know. There's other guides for other tools in the guides section.

Or if you don't want to think about it, try something like DivxToDVD.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Ah No !

Not to 2nd, raise the priority to 2, or to the top of the list. If that doesn't work then there's possibly a problem with your source file(s).
    If in doubt, Google it.
