  1. I am having trouble converting avi files to dvd with all the software I have used...winavi 7.1, nerovision express, vso divxtodvd and so on. I have tried both latest and previous software versions.

I have been trying to create an episodic dvd from 13 20min avi files. During the conversion I get error messages such as 'xxxxx encountered an error and has to close down'.

I also get a blue screen error message occasionally aswell... "0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" not sure if it has any relavence to this situation

No matter what software I am using I still get these frequent errors. I also get them converting dvd to avi/divx etc with what ever software I use. I do not know why my computer does this but I am unable to sucessfully complete a conversion.

Anyone had this problem before or know how to rectify it? Any help or advise will be much apppreciated???

Do you have the same problem with MPEG encoding? If so, I would suspect RAM problems. If not, a codec problem. Which one and how, not sure.

The BSOD is more often a hardware failure than software. The other, more obvious thing to check is your input files. Look at them with AVIcodec or Gspot. Look for out of spec resolution or audio that is AC3 or MP3 VBR audio. Both those can cause problems.

Can be a sign of bad ram, bad drivers, or even a USB DSL modem. There will be more information that may narrow it somewhat, but you haven't provided it here. If it only happens when you are encoding, and have nothing else running, inlcuding being online, then ram is the likely culprit.
