  1. ok, this may sound stupid to you guys but here i go:
i am trying to burn this file:
    [vv]monsters.inc.ts.centrophy.divx.avi
i know its a vcd cuz i got it vcdvault and whenever i use NERO to burn it into a CD nero screwes up when i select "burn" it syas that "there isnt enough..." after "enough" the messege gets cut off. What do ia have to do?

  2. What very likely happened was that someone took a vcd mpg file and converted it to a divx avi.. hence the filename. what u need to do is go to the convert section and check under How to convert to VCD or XVCD MPEG1. after you do this, you will be able to burn it on nero

  3. OK, thank you
so i used TMPEGenc to encode the file so i encoded it but the file came out too big (817 mb) so i used MYFLIX to cut the movie in half so i could fit it in 2 cds. I get one part of the movie and then add it to the nero burning list and messege pops up saying that it is not a valid VCD and gives me a choice to encode it or just write it anyway. So i press encode, when it finished "encoding" i see the file in the list being only 300kb so in other words it wasnt the movie. I really need help with this

  4. ok, so i wrote the CD anyway, i tested it in my DVD player and the video part is excellent but the audio becomes VERY VERY choppy, impossible to make of what the people are saying. What is wrong?

  5. I tried avi2vcd onthe original 215 megabite movie in divx .avi format. It took me 8 hours to encode 1/4 of all the movie. I cant wait that long. Im really getting pissed off

    use tmpgend to cut it
    go to http://www.felxion.org
there is a tutorial under the video section that will tell you how to cut it and keep it vcd compliant

  7. cut the file in half with VirtualDub first. make sure to cut on a keyframe (hold down shift in VirtualDub). then convert the 2 parts with TMPGEnc. be sure to load the vcd template.

i have heard many reports of VCD compliance being screwed up by cutting apps. i always cut first.

BTW even if you are sucessfull i am guessing that your VCD will look like shit because vcdvault uses to low of a bitrate when encoding Divx. your time would be better spent finding a VCD compliant MPG copy.
    peace out,

A little side note...vcdvault does NOT mean it's necessairly a VCD. Vcdvault also does(or use to do) DVD Rips.
