  1. I've got 7 movies all accessed through 7 buttons on the menu. I also created a 'play all' button. Although I can create Chapter points which work WITHIN each movie, I want each movie to act like a Chapter, so that if I'm playing Movie 2 then I want to be able to jump to the start of Movie 3 by hitting FF (assuming there are no other chapters in Movie 2). The HELP section says "You don't have to add a Chapter Point at the beginning of the movie because this is done automatically." Yes, I can see it is, but I can't seem to make it work when playing on my DVD. Similarly, if run the Play All command the FF button on the remote is not functioning. Any idea's please ?

You need to put a chapter point on the last (or as close to as possible) frame of each movie. You also have to make sure you have the end of the title linked to the start of the next.

Either that, or create a playlist with all the chapters in order across titles.

  3. Hi there. I did create a playlist (it was a Single VTS playlist) with all movies in order but the FF on the remote isn't activated. I'll try inserting chapters at the end of each movie...

I've never used a VTS Play All playlist so I'm not sure how it functions. (Usually I use the icons which automatically creates a VMG Playlist.) But I've used the random and counter lists which sit on the VTS domain. In order for those to work, you must actually redirect the movie back to the playlist in order for it to play the next clip in the compilation. You have to draw the connections.

This obviously won't work since you probably don't wish to play all clips every single time so here's a mini-workaround for that. Either go with a VMG playlist (in connections window, the playlist icon at the bottom) or create a blank menu and place it between the main menu and playlist. Then connect your movies to a last menu object in the connections window.

So when you hit the play all button in the main menu, it goes to the blank menu which times out after 1 second to go to the playlist. After the movie plays, (and is connected to the last menu object) it will return to the last menu accessed which would be the blank one instead of the main one. That will automatically timeout to go back to the play list.

If you haven't selected the play all button off your main menu, then your movie should return to the main menu as it was the last one accessed.
