hey, i have a question about the Windows Task Manager. i normally always keep it open, i thinks its handy to have the little meter by the clock, and i like to have it already open if a program crashes. i was wondering if there a way to make it so its always up, but not in the taskbar, like the little meter is by the clock, and if i just double clicked the meter, the task manager would open up. so, is this possible? thanks

you can put task manager in your programs/startup menu so it launches on startup. place a shortcut to C:/windows/system32/taskmgr.exe in your startup menu, then right-click it and select run: minimized. that should do it.

you should probably realize, though, that having crap like that running all the time doesn't help prevent crashes...

I always keep mine minimized like that so I can glance and see what the processors are doing. In fact I have the habit of doing this with almost every computer I have. That way I know to be patient if the processor(s) are going full-tilt or perhaps realize something is wrong.

thats the same for me. for example, i use firefox for the internet, and some times, for no reason at all, it just goes from, like, a CPU Usage of 2, and just right up into the 90's and slows down everything. and it just randomly happens, so all of the same programs are open, so id like to know whats doing it, so i could close it down
