try renaming the VR_MOVIE.VRO to VR_MOVIE.MPG and then playing it with any Mpeg player. Nero should be able to burn this file now too.

I just asked a friend and he said windows XP should be able to read this file. Older versions of windows can't read it from the disc it's currently on. That appears to be your issue. If so you may want to find a Win2K or WinXP machine and use it to extract the file, rename it, and burn it to a DVD+-R.

Doubtful. This is usually a DVD-Ram disc issue. Have you tried copying the disc to a -+r disc? I've never heard of an issue where an RW contents can not be read by that OS. I think ulead media studio reads this format. They have a free 30 day trial. That application will allow you to convert the .VRO to .VOB files and then you can use your burning software to create a normal DVD-Video disc.

sounds like it wasn't finalised by the person who recorded it. I'd send it back to have it finalised and you might be able to read it.

You don't need to finalize an RW.

Try the old DVD Decrypter and re-write the VOBs to 1gb size. I have a standalone settop recorder that writes on -R / -RW and if I record in VR mode, I have the same problem.

Yes, I have to finalize the -RW's also. And it plays, just cannot read or copy unless I finalize, then use Decrypter to redo the VOBs.
