Thanks for the shutdown option - first seen by me in 2.0.2106
    - 2 icons to the right of Make DVD icon for those who haven't discovered it.

Curious about the 3 flavors of shutdown [ shutdown, force, force-if-hung]
I'm guessing that the third, and maybe the 2nd are to deal with programs
that beg like "save xxx before closing" . Used the 3rd one last night just to be sure. Worked like a charm.

Could you add Hibernate ? I think it always works no matter what else is running, but more cool is that upon re-starting your PC you immediately get to see the S2D log text and can find messages from the other programs which were running too.

Oh, and it of course saves power and wear-and-tear on one's PC just like shutdown.

    Cheers, P-PA

  4. Thanks CB you are fast. And good.

My schedule this weekend doesn't allow much room for PC fun, that's why you probably won't hear from me for a few days.

    Cheers all, P-PA

Did a small test of the hibernate version. Just a single small mpg with no menu. It hibernated my system just fine. Did not need Force or Force if Hung checked.

I do have a couple of avi's to do, which would be a more usual condition for requiring hibernate, so will maybe try this tonight.

Incidentally, as a first test just to have something quick to do, I tried just extracting a couple of mpgs from bins. It didn't hibernate the system when they were done which I now realize is probably a good idea and no doubt a conscious decision on your part.

As an unrelated side issue, when extracting the pair of bin files I didn't get a progress bar for the first one but I did for the second one. This happened every time I tried this.

Well, I set a couple of AVI's to process last night, and got up today to find a nicely hibernated PC sitting there. Woke it up and there was S2D reporting a successful completion. Definitely two thumbs way up from me!
    Thanks CB!

  7. This is to report that the 2nd time I tried Hibernate it worked like a charm.

    Many thanks CB.

It probably would have worked the 1st time but I'm now sure I did not actually properly activate it - at any rate, the code it calls when done, does the job.

Suggestion is to make ALL the choices appear in 1 list when one pushes the down-pointing tringle next to the "turn off" icon, let the user choose one, show a checkmark next to his/her choice and turn the icon red. I find the current situation, where different choices appear and disappear, to be confusing and also this approach does not leave me with a warm feeling that I have successfully chosen what I wanted.

Anyway, now I know how to use it, but as a proselytizer of S2D want it to be easy for everyone the 1st time. Watching S2D evolve since I started to use it months ago I have happily seen it moving from less of a cult program towards a superb mainstream application.

    Cheers, P-PA
