  1. I need to create a series of videos for playback on a PC in Windows Media Player... not as a DVD as the 'play list' of files will be regularly changed/added to.
Also needs to cope with 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios in PAL

I'm coming from Final Cut Pro so can generate a high quality QT or output for Mpeg 2 (but creates 2 files... a .m2v and a .aiff)

Can these 2 files be simply muxed in ffmpeg?

I've tried a few options in ffmpeg but find many of them confusing!

I've got ffmepgX 0.0.9p.... would moving up to a more recent version help?

    TIA

    Steve

  2. AIFF is not recognized so you should first convert it to WAV with Quicktime Player. Then use the "Mux as DVD" tool to mux m2v and WAV and it will create a MPG file (disable the 'author as DVD' option to avoid creation of the VIDEO_TS folder). Switching to the most recent version -always- helps.

  3. Well that did and did'nt work!

The encode to .wav thro Quicktime OK. The mux thro ffmepg OK.

The resulting .mpg file plays OK in Quicktime on the Mac but 'sticks' after about 20 sec of play back on Windows Media player - the video stops playing whilst the audio continues to play???

Tried some diffrent files and lowering the bit rate of my original m2v file but still the same????

  4. Email me some process output detail or a short clip to major4@mac.com
