  1. Ok so i wanted to edit the background pic of a menu, found this guide:
    http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=93257

Followed it to the T (or so i thought) and the end result is that when i load up the movie the highlighting around the menus won't work, but if you click the menus it will bring u to where you want to go.

    This is what i did:
Extracted cell i wanted to edit in vobBlanker.
    Extracted that VOB with vobrator
    Edited my background
Extracted the subpic in the main vob using subrip.
Created a .SST file which points to the correct path and correctly named .BMP file.
Used Muxman to recompile the bg.bmp the audio file and the subpic
    Saved
Loaded vobBlanker and replaced the menu cell with the new VOB
Went to PGCedit and loaded the menu and imported the buttons and color schemes in which i previously exported. Saved

    Loaded and nothing WTF!!!?

  2. Hi-

Sorry, but I can't pinpoint the problem with what you did. However, I've followed this guide several times with success:

    http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=555936#post555936

One advantage is that you don't have to mess with the sub pics. Even if you decide not to do it all over again following this guide, it may give you some clues about any steps you may have left out or done wrong. However, that guide doesn't really seem to be about editing a menu pic and replacing it, but replacing an entire original menu back into a video. If I understand correctly what you want to do, the guide linked above may be better suited to your purposes.

  3. Thanks for the reply, i'll give this a try although seems a bit more complicated, anyway using this method will it allow me to have a highlight or does the highlight go away?

  5. how can i do this when remuxing?

Sorry, I can't help you there, as I've only ever followed the guide to which I linked earlier, and after editing the pic, stuck just the M2V back into the original Menu. I didn't have to do anything with the audio. Perhaps authoring it with Muxman or IFOEdit, at the same time adding the audio, and then adding that cell back into the menu using VobBlanker following your original guide will work. But I just don't know. Perhaps someone else around here can help.

  6. Not sure using muxman would work because than i think i would have to extract the subpic (highlight) and add it back to muxman when creating the new vob which i am not good at, tried doing that with another guide and came up short, so far this works well but i just need to add that lil peice where you can add the audio and i'm set.

  8. Hi-

I've been trying for the last hour to find how to do what you want, not because I'm such a nice guy, but because I may want to do the same thing myself some time. After coming up with some dead ends, I think I've found a guide for what you want. You've already done some of the work required:

    MODIFY A DVD-MENU WITH MUXMAN

In the same manner you can modify a 4:3 menu of a commercial DVD. You can change the text of a button, add a button, delete a button, change the background picture (or the background movie), change the audio track or make all other changes you can think on.

There are all kinds of other posts in that thread (including one for using the same method for a 16:9 menu), some of which may help you to get your original VobBlanker method working correctly. If you decide to tackle the job, please let me know if you wind up with what you want.
