And why does it say to SHAKE WELL before opening???

I'm addicted to Gatorade though I'm no athlete I just like the taste and its better than drinking too much pop (soda for the rest of you ).

Anyone know why it must be refrigerated and shaking??? Whats in it thats delicate???

it is best to drink Gatorade cold, as the electolytes in it can cause serious damage to the enamel on your teeth -- the effects are multiplied when the liquid is warm(er)

*this doesn't seem to be much of an issue for the British

Warn drinks are just nasty in general.

also for anyone who doubts Gatorade WILL grow mold.

I don't think the electrolytes will do anything to your teeth. The "electrolyte" in Gatorade is salt.

If you don't refrigerate it, it will cause massive growths of pubic hair.

    Not a pretty site.

I totally agree. Some men are breast men, some are into legs... I'm more of a vagina man myself.

Still, there's those times when you least expect it...

scroll down a bit on that second link
The first and perhaps most important problem with the study is that it tests teeth, in vitro, or in a test tube. The environment in a test tube is very different than in a person’s mouth, in vivo, because a person’s saliva can buffer the effects of the acid.
They preformed these tests on the discovery channel, and they found that soda and other beverages didn't do the amount of damage they claim it causes.

The most important thing to remember is that acidic beverages and those that contain sugar can damage teeth.
Duh!! The enamel on your teeth can be erroded with your tooth brush and tooth paste over time, that's not going to stop you from brushing your teeth. I drink diet coke by the liters because it contains no calories (Why drink your calories when you can eat them). I'm 27 and have no cavities, fillings or damage to my teeth.
