  5. Why does every link open up a new browser? You may want to fix that.

Like all people who have the FlashBlock extension installed in their Firefox, all I get is shown in the picture below.

Well, I have to say, most people hate Flash.
It takes forever to load, and this is the wrong audience.

Flash is for "making things pretty".

That may work well on a movie site, or something promotional, but not for a site that has a goal of information.

You'll never see a library or a college writing a site completely in something like flash. They want broad readership, and zero aggravation. Flash is counter to that theory of web navigation.

So when you use Flash, you do so understanding that you'll likely lose a lot of audience. And then because you're not a site advertising the newest Tom Cruise movie, people are going to leave after getting annoyed for 1-2 clicks or a few seconds too long of load time. A site that fails to load will fail to be visited.

Just some online communication things to consider.

I understand and I completely agree. (this is a bit off-topic sorry)
And I myself hate flashsites that has a 'skip intro' link on it, meaning: I know my intro is too long.

However, Flash is very common on the internet. If you block Flash you might as well block Java and all other scripts that make a special design possible.

If people are really interested in Videoediting they have the possibility to bookmark the site behind the intro menu.
Afterall, it takes one or two seconds to load and click from the menu to the pages is instantly.

By now you see some hobby site's closing down because of the heavy bandwith load.
There is a big download site in the UK planning to close down or ask money for the downloads.

We are a non-profit site without commercial advertising and we will keep it that way.

We also want to prevent that other sites deeplink our downloads so they can offer them for free without registration.

And.... you don't HAVE to, it's free and its your choice

I disagree. Your server is too slow for Flash content. And then the page your made could just as easily have been done as HTML. Compare your site to something like www.m-ms.com (M&M's site). The load times and technical compatibility of browsers is like night and day.

And what's with all the servers/domains?
    videoholland.nl
    videoholland.com
    videoholland.co.uk
    videomontagefaq.nl
    videoeditforum.com
    videohandel.nl
Seriously, pick one. Forward the rest.
That's a lot of money for domains when one would suffice.

You've got me completely lost as to the goal of your site. I see English, I see Dutch. I see free information, I see products for sale. I see UK address, I see .COM address, I see Netherlands addresses.

I see some nifty short guides for the consumer NLE's (found here: http://www.videomontagefaq.nl/english ), and that's good, but everything else is cluttered. On the other hands, you make people click 3-4 times jsut to reach a page that say "this will be fixed in future releases" which literally looks like a cut/paste from the NLE maker's site, or it says "no entries available" (why bother with a link?).

Like I said, I admire the effort, I did see a few things I liked (Premiere guides), but I would hate to see this turn into another dvdhelp.us site. Dvdhelp.us totally blows, full of ads, and the code is garbage, poorly organized information, a ghetto in cyberspace.

Just some things I think you should really consider.

    Absolutly not.

I just wondered what caused this problem.
You are the first that comes up with this.
I asked several people to view and check the site with IE and FireFox.
So I thought it was maybe something with your browser.
I wil look in to this.
Thanks for telling me because I am afraid you wil not the only one having problems viewing the site.

    Not going to happen.

The local shared objects "Feature" in Flash is an open invitation for bad things like "PIE" (persistent identification element) to come in. Throw in little things like these quotes from the Macromedia site:
"Applications that are created with Macromedia Flash may want to have access to the camera and/or microphone available on your computer"
    and
"It is the responsibility of the person or company requesting access to make it clear to you why they want access and how they plan to use the audio or video".

I don't get viruses, I don't get spyware, I never see a pop-up, and I am not tracked everywhere I go on the web. There is absolutely no way I am going to open up my security settings just so I can see a bunch of flashy stuff.

Sorry, but I won't be bookmarking your site.

  20. I also don't like the flash homepage and you need to clean up the English translation(my Dutch is a little rusty ):

Your website needs a little work but it has potential...good luck.
