Ok here's my newb question... I'm not sure which guide to consult for this.

I have a still frame graphic that I need to make either an AVI or MPG file. My DVD project is to take this graphic, make it appear on screen for about a minute. Then I'm editing a video to the end of that still, then the still returns on screen for another minute or so.

Anyone know which guide/tool I need to check out to take a simple graphic file and make it a video?

I use Video Studio 9 (Ulead) for mixing video and stills. Results are good and one program does it all.

Just about EVERY video NLE worth it's salt can do that (AVID, FCP, Vegas, Premiere, Ulead, Pinnacle Liquid, etc). Either put the still in the timeline and adjust length properties to extend until ~2-5 sec--whatever you're needing, or put the still in the timeline MULTIPLE times until it fills the length. Then export to AVI.

    -or-

You could also take advantage of the still capability of DVD's. Just have the end action of a video clip go to the still and have it's timeout set to your desired length, then have the still's timeout set to what you would have originally set for the clip.

  4. What video editor are you using? Just about any editor will let you insert a still image and allow you to set the display time for the image.

Yep, I see even Windows Movie Maker lets you do this. Sorry, just didn't have my head where I needed it to be. Your answers helped!
