My first try with this program. I have one movie, demuxed to m2v and ac3 files. i have a short ac3 audio clip for background music on the menu pages. i have jpegs for background images for the menus. All assets imported no problem. Dragged video and audio to project, created 10 chapter points, no problem. Used magic wand to create chapter menus (4 thumbs per page, so three pages. Linked menu 1 to chapter menu 1.

Noticed 1st chapter menu page had arrow button (created by magic wand
above) pointing wrong direction. Dragged that arrow off the page, dragged proper facing arrow on to menu, replacing improper arrow. Undid link for that arrow (just in case). Linked that arrow to chapter menu
    2. Also inserted a-b fade transitions between each menu page (using magic wand). So far, all is well.

Compiled dvd, with "build index, rebuild all transitions." Mounted dvd with Daemon tools, played dvd with Nero Showtime.

Menu buttons are not working properly. On main menu, "play movie" and "Chapters menu 1" button not working at all as if not linked.
They are not highlighting either. Do these buttons need to be "moved to front" to make the links work? Does one need to be "first button?"

Is there a way to test the connections before compiling? I couldn't find
    if it's there.
I said I'll be done in a minute. I meant a Microsoft minute.

    Hi honorarybrutha,

Try also searching / posting over at the forums for DVDLab Pro, found from the tool's homepage - listed at the the top as "web boards".

    Good luck.

  4. there is a way to test the menus...there's a red button that looks like 'record' - click it and you can test w/ 4 arrow buttons as if on a remote control (click it again to stop the recording)..you can also run several reports (maybe from the edit menu?) that show your links etc..although I must say I have had some menu button issues w/ the current release (I think 1.53) that didn't seem to happen in the earlier releases ... best thing I found was try your proj. from scratch, and try not to make changes - try first w/o the transitions then see if adding them changes anything..I know this is odd advice and for me dvdlab pro has been very solid and really an excellent tool..just this one area seems to have destabilized a little (IMO - not sure if this is confirmed)...post back if you have any updates

If your buttons are not even highlighting then I think the navigation links are broken. No big deal, they got created when the buttons got made by the magic wand, but when you replaced them you didn't link them. This is easy to fix.

Find the box under the magic wand somewhere that says "auto-route". Directly on the left of that is an arrow. Click it and select "show all". These are your navigation links corresponding to the direction buttons on your remote. Now, select all your buttons and checkmark the box that says auto-route. You'll see new navigation links put in automatically for you. You can also put them in manually if you like by using the buttons on the right side of "auto-route".

Now on the same row of icons on the far left, press the play button. Test it. Then to close, hit the stop button on the right of the play button to return to normal. Voila.

@DaveS: Button issues? Ummm..... such as? I doubt it's a software glitch.

thanks for your help guys. i got the links to work now. however, i lost the background music clip on the chapter menus (all three). the background music was ok on the main menu.

3rd try should be the charm!
