Could you please tell me what can cause a media error when burning in DVDSP (besides the media?)...Can it be something wrong with the project? What does it mean when the log says that "the_name_of_project.layout fille will not be included in DVD"

It can be that something is wrong with video and/or audio track(s) you are using..Or pictures for the buttons and backgrounds if you have them...

What does it mean when the log says that "the_name_of_project.layout fille will not be included in DVD"

Thats fine... .layout file is the DVDSP temp file which shouldnt be included on burned DVD and you can find it inside authored VIDEO_TS folder...
