  1. I burned several home made clips on dvd . I wanted to use filter to adjust the lighting and I used TMPGEnc 3.0 Express to extract the files from my dvd and adjusted lighting and as Output I used DVD NTSC to save .

I used Sonic My Dvd to burn it , but I got a message telling me the Data Rate is too high for DVD.

Is Data Rate same as Bit rate and if TMPGE saved it as DVD, should it not burn . Or did I have to use a different format for Output , like AVI

Other programs I have tried to use to burn, did not recognize the file format used by TMPGE, only Sonic My Dvd did .

    Thanks

I'm assuming the 'data rate' is probably a combination of the video and audio bitrates. Max bitrate for a DVD is about 9800 kbps 'data rate'.

Many players can still work above that datarate, but to be on the safe side, I generally use around 8000kbps max. I don't use TMPGEnc Express, but that sounds like the right format you are using.

After formatting to MPEG-2, you have to author the file before you burn. I'm assuming that's what 'My DVD' is doing. If the MPEG-2 files are DVD compliant, any authoring program should be able to use them.

If you look to the left <<<< under 'What is' DVD, you can see all the DVD specifications.

  3. Thanks for the reply.

I used TMPPGEnc Dvd Author 1.6 and it created the dvd with no problem .

That Sonic MyDvd must be an outdated software that could not handle higher bitrate .
