At work my friend Omar gave me his hard drive to fix.
    He is running Windows 2000.
At start up it says something and has that bue screen of death un fortinaty i cant remember the error but it said try chkdsk /f and check for viruses.
I used it as a slave to check for bad sectors and it found none.

Now at start up it wont even come up with that blue screen it just says verifying dmi pool data and thats it, it just stops there.
(This is the drive set to the master)
    So what do i do?
Im not guna go install windows 2000 on it again because he doesnt deserve it.
What can i do to try and fix it tho.
I cant even get into safe mode.
Surely id need to set it as a slave and do something to it in windows to make it boot properly as a master.
I even configured it as a master in the bios by making it the only HDD connected but still no luck!!

    Ne1??

  2. The drive is:
A.Infected with a virus and the DMI pool/autoexec is corrupt.
    B.Windows files are corrupt.
C.Locked up due to a hardware problem.

    Solution:
Use a virus utility,do a clean install or buy a new one.

    BTW...what's with the religous reference?

Your sense of humor sucks. Don't do that again. Consider this an informal warning. Your post has been edited to remove the "jokes".

You can try FDISK/MBR to replace the master boot record incase it is corrupt.
