    Hello People,

I just burned few 8x Sony DVD+Rs and decided to check them with:

    DVDInfoPro
    DVD Identifier
    Nero InfoTool

but my burner could not find discs (even if I used it to burn them) and all of these programs displayed error that Medium not present

    What possibly might cause this?

    TIA

I think my DVD burner is screwed up. I inserted Sex And The City original DVD and its doing crazy things with it. Skipping like never before and making scary sound.

Now, the best part, I called CircuitCity and they said they gonna replace it (because I have 2 year of CitiAdvantage Protection Plan)... with refurbished instead of new one... Also they cannot guarantee its gonna be same model or brand

    Would you believe this?

Well the only thing I can think of is that the Psychic in your drive has gone on break. My drives use media not mediums.
The real answer lies in completely understanding the question!

Please check if your DVD burner is working in DMA mode.

You can check this by using Nero info tool (freeware) and look under "configuration":

    Problem solved!!!

It was faulty Sony DVD RW DRU-710A burner. I returned it and got DRU-800A back. But by the time it arrived I had BenQ 1640 (WOW, burner for $40!) already installed in my machine. Thanks ricoman for suggestion of BenQ 1640 - pretty nice burner!

From now on i got only "Data verification completed successfully!" and discs are playing without any single skip and freeze.

Thanks everyone who participate in this topic and tried to help me with finding a solution,
