I have been unable to backup (using DVD Decrypter) the following movies of mine:

    Spanglish
    Man Of The House
    Hitch

Is there some new protection I am not aware of (I buy ex-rental R2) with Columbia pictures?

I have not seen any of the new protection schemes on any disks released over here (R4), and we often get the same as the UK R2 releases because of the common format. That is not to say it can't/wont/hasn't happened.

Try the latest DVD Fab Decrypter instead, as DVD Decrypter hasn't been updated in sometime now (and won't be again).

Here's a good list of ARccOS encrypted DVD's. All three movies listed are on it. As mentioned, DVDFab Decrypter is the easy solution.

I guess I should have added that I NEVER use shrink for ripping. Never have. But I have so far not hit a movie I could not get with DVD Decrypter because of protection schemes.
