  1. I'm trying to rip a DVD so that it will play on my TiVo. I've looked at all the tutorials out there but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do? Are you trying to copy a ripped DVD to you TIVO harddrive in order to play it with your TIVO player? If that's the case I assue your TIVO unit doesn't have a DVDRW drive and you'd be copying your file via network connection. If so, I don't have a clue if and how you could do that. Usually people want to go the other way (TIVO to DVD).

If you create a mpeg2 file and place it in your TIVO file on your hard drive and have set up your computer as a server you can transfer the file to your TIVO and play it on TV. The size of the file thats needed I don't know.

  5. With the newest tivo desktop software you can set a folder on your computer to share with any tivo on the network. there are certain file restrictions (mpeg files with certain resolutions and bitrates). I am able to transfer other recordings but can't transfer my dvd's. the reason i want to do this is because i keep all of my dvd's on my computer (i have a lot of storage space).
