Television set menu display problems...

Not certain if this is the forum to find an answer or if I need to find some other place but here's my question..I have a large 51" rear projection tube Panasonic TV system, with a Phillips DirecTv reciever, a Panasonic E80H DMR, a Cyberhome 300, and a Cinevision dual VHS/DVD player/recorder system hooked to the TV... Last night when I got home from work, I turned it on, Sound, but no Picture.... Didn't have time to fol with it, so I shut it off, went to bed, then off to work.. I paid my monthly DirecTv subscription via online at work (no I wasn't late..) got home, and turnd on the TV.. at 1st, it still had a blank screen, but had audio..Then after about two minutes, the picture came on.. Now if I attempt to make adjustment to the TV settings with either the remote or the buttons on the set itself, I get a black screen in the areas where the TV menu's should be appearing on the screen.. the menu's forthe DVD Recorder and DirecTV receiver still display intheir normal vivid colors.. But I can't get the TV system menu's to come up in their normal manner.. just a dark blank area in the shape of the normal TV settings menu... Anyone have any ideas, or can point me somewhere concerning this ...Any help would eb appreciated..Thanks in advance
