  1. I know that this must be a simple question but I have a dvd file (created using TMPGEnc) and I am trying to burn it using Nero 6.6.0.8. Once I have selected to burn it as a dvd video file I go to select the file I want to burn. At this point I get an error message stating "file.mpg is larger that 2GB and therefore can not be stored in an ISO file system. Please use the UDF file system to write such large files". I have no idea what this means but I go and select the UDF file system and I don't believe that I will be creating a dvd video file anymore.

    Can anyone help?

Sounds like nero is expecting to burn a cd instead of a dvd. You need to make sure that you have DVD selected in nero.

You need to author the file(s) then burn with Nero.

    TDA to author and burn.
...or TDA to author and create DVD structure on HDD, ImgTools Classic to create image, DVDDecrypter (or its decendant) to burn

Yes, TDA to burn. Got its own incorporated burner.

  8. Thanks to everyone for your comments. What I don't understand is that I created the DVD file using TMPGEnc Express (I selected the options inside the program to create a DVD) - what I got as an end product was a large (4.6 GB) mpg file. Shouldn't I just be able to burn this in nero as a dvd video file?

You need to shrink (dvdshrink) after authoring with TDA before then burning to disc. In future, an alternative would be to reduce bitrate and thus file size when in TMPGenc to fit a dvd5 disc.

mpeg video is only the video component of a DVD. As pointed out by previous posters, this does not, on it's own, a DVD make. The authoring process takes the video, audio, menus (if included) and other bits and pieces, and incorporates them into the correct structure to become a DVD. This is what you burn.
