Converting AVI/DIVx -> VCD Format

I have a number of files that I have created or downloaded in the AVI/DIVx format that I would like to burn to a VCD to watch on my TV. Everything that I try say's that it cannot convert compressed audio. If I try to write them to a disk using Nero, it starts the conversion but does not complete.

Decompress the audio.
