    I am interested in having a custom video file converting/encoding software program made that is capable of converting the most common video formats to a WMV file. My question is at the core of the software, what components (codecs, etc) would be required to allow this software to convert to WMV? And where to obtain these components?

    Thanks for the link. Does anyone know if there is already an open source encoder application out there that I would build off of by just adding things like site integration, rather than starting from near scratch?
