    Hi, I ripped this DVD using smartripper and stored it to my hard disk. I tried to play using WinDVD, but the screen is dark, plus it only last 3 minutes per each chapter without sound.

    Does this mean I ripped it wrong? I was able to encode the same VOB file using flaskmpg, though for some odd reason only 30 minutes length out of 2 hours.

    Can anyone tell me what's wrong? I tried to encode it using TMPGenc, but for worse, it crushes.

    try reripping the DVD ...your Ripper might of used the wrong key that happens just rerip and that will solve it
