    Howdy,

Have been using Nero 6.0.0.11 for a long time now without any problems, but I seem to be running into some problems with errors when I go to burn my files. The error reads below in the .gif file. If this file doesn't work the error I'm getting is "Power Calibration Error"

Any Ideas? Thinking it's possibly something with my box, but not sure. Running WinXP Home and P4 1.7GHz 756M Ram

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Max

Do a forum search for 'power calibration error'. There are 218 threads on it presently. Main cause is media. Try a different brand. Next is a burner that needs the lens cleaned, followed closely by a failing burner; but read the threads.

If you perform a simple search of this forum using the exact error message, you will find literally hundreds of posts regarding this same error message, and answers by people with much more expertise and knowledge than I can offer.

    For example,

In short, it is apparently a problem with the actual DVD drive -- either the lens, or the burner finally giving out -- although using better media can often cause it to "go away."

You beat me by (literally) seconds. Interesting that my response is practically a carbon copy of yours...

Its nice to feel validated. Grin.

    Take care,

Did do a quick search but, not for the above mentioned, thanks for the help. Maybe the ol burner is finally giving out. I'll give it a cleaning with some compressed air I have and maybe that'll help.

    cheers,
    Max
