Hi mate
first off mods do not have to answer for their actions. If you really want to know then PM one of them nicely and they will probably tell you. The old thread was locked for good reason and you have questioned it so it was moved. Nobody needs to answer to that and it's pretty obvious to me as nobody wants to talk about 'crap' like that anymore
I hope you see the point of it and start posting some stuff in the good threads 8)

virginva, let it go. It was locked because people felt strongly about their views and it was a train wreck waiting to happen. I'm sure lordsmurf didn't want a disaster scene in the middle of OT now that it's been picking up. It was a preventative measure to keep misunderstandings from happening.
It's not a conspiracy. It's not cencorship. It's not preferential treatment.
Threads used to be locked all the time to prevent stuff, remember?
Relax, man. -
It's quite simple really. We (mods) got sick of tidying up OT when the PWs were out of control. At those times, there were dozens of threads with some members posting hundreds of posts in a week... all completely pointless and many increasingly pushing the boundaries of acceptable behaviour on the forum. OT was designed to be a casual fun "time-out" discussion forum but it had become rather tiresome for us. Many people seemed to forget that the spirit of this forum is still videohelp, not OT.
Warnings were given and not taken. So we locked down OT. We considered removing OT for a while all together
That OT wasn't the "fun" place it used to be? Don't blame that on us but on the people who abused OT for months. For the old "OT" crowd, there are a number of spin off forums you can go to instead.

I don't know any details about what exactly is going on of if this suggestion is anyway related to the problem. If there's a post-whoreing problem in OT isn't it possible to modify the forum so posts in OT don't count toward a members post-count? I've seen it done on another forum.

Censorship happens in private forums - not much you can do about it. You have no constitutional rights here apart from those that Baldrick sees fit to grant. The mods and Baldrick are under no obligation whatsoever to give anyone a fair hearing or the time of day, but to their credit they do, and do a wonderful job of it most of the time.
If in doubt, Google it.
