Video at fast speed

I'm trying to encode a dvix file to DVD using the mpeg2enc setting. Original is high definition with 5.1 audio. I also encoded audio to AC3 5.1. Resultring picture quality is excellent but the video runs at what seems twice the normal speed. Needless to say, audio is **very** out of sync.

I am trying to preserve the 5.1 audio content but previous attempts using audio passthrough with the encode audio box checked gave me normal speed but somewhat jerky motion on the video. Audio only slightly out of sync (could live with that if no choice). If I leave the encode audio box unchecked, there will be no separate audio file at all while the mpeg video file is silent.
