A friend cannot play the RealPlayer clip here:
http://64.27.98.24/clip.ram
So, thinking I'd do him a favour while learning a little about basic conversion, I used R-click > Save Link As to save a file Ham1.ram on my HD, as in other circumstances that has downloaded the actual file. But of course in this instance it just downloads a 33 byte link![]()
To be honest, I didn't bother to check, and it wasn't until I'd run my freshly-installed trial version of EO Reader that I discovered my stupid mistake, i.e. on seeing this:
"Error! This .ram file is script only which points to a distant internet server. (Err=30839 - 0)"
Anyway, so what is the correct way of accomplishing this please? IOW, getting that short video into a format he can play in WMP9, which I do know he has working.

The RAM file is just a text file indicating the location of the actual file. Open it with Notepad and you'll see:
rtsp://64.27.98.20:554/fordave.rm
You'll still need an application that can handle the rstp protocol. -
