Use DVD Decrypter or DVDFab Decrypter and rip the Lost DVD to your hard disk. Then, use DVD Shrink to shrink the Video_TS folder that you have ripped to your hard disk. Burn your resulting Video_TS folder from DVD Shrink to any DVD+R or -R.

  3. thanx for the help but i am very versed in the way of dvd shrink

the compression ratio sits at about 50% which is WAY to low
so i want to make 1:1 copies so i want to split the dvd9 to dvd5

dvdfab wont let me split it

Have a look at DVD-RB, it doesn't transcode the video it encodes the video leading to much better quality as it encodes to fit the available space

It comes with a couple of very good freeware video encoders, as well as the options to use CCE or ProCoder if you have access to those

Its slower as it encodes the video, but if final output quality is what your after, give it a look

The Pro version has more options that are not available to the freeware version, and has features well ahead of the freeware release, and only cost $10 to register, which is well worth it

  5. You could try shrinking, and then reshrinking one more time. put it in your player and see if the quality is acceptable to you.

  6. Here's an old Dvdshrink trick, take i/2 of the episodes and cut them down to still images and them shrink the result. You should get all the menus and etc and 1/2 of the episodes in full woth very little comppression. Then do a second disk with the still images/full episodes reversed. label the disks appropriately and you shoule have 2 disks, each with half of the episodes in usable form and all the menus on each. This is more useable than the Dvdfab result for episodic disks. Nyah Levi

If you don't need the menus you could use DVD Shrinks in reauthor mode and just drag across half the episodes per disk.

Or, use vobblanker to remove the episodes you don't want.

Yup this is what I've done with my episodic discs, the only other thing I'd suggest is using pgcedit to change the play all option to jump straight to the right episodes left on the disc and using pgcedits kill pgc playback option so that the episodes that have been rendered as still images dont run for 45 minutes with a black screen. You can also - optionally - use the button editor to remove the option to jump to episodes you've split onto another disc.

    Cheers

  9. that's a good idea ill do that

also i found clone dvd and pick and choose which chapters to remove and it can save the menus as well

but i have to be careful as it's hard to pick the right episodes
