  1. I have the following dvd players
    Norcent dp-300
    Philips 620VR (with vcr combo)
    Philips 724

The problem is that nearly every dvd I record doesn't play well, or at all, on all of the players. I use tdk & sony media. Many of the movies start to play well but begin to skip. It is frustrating beyond belief. I have noticed that some brands of media work better on certain players. My question is, is there a player that can handle these dvd+r movies without skipping? I don't really like the cheap norcent type players. It is interesting to note that all of the movies play fine on the pc so that data is there. I have tried a variety of ripping programs mainly smartripper and dvdshrink. I set the pc up and let it rip/process uninterupted. I burn at slow speeds with my nec2500a. I can't think of what the problem could be. But backups of this poor quality aren't worth the effort. I would love to hear any input on how to fix this. I realize this post could have went in many sections.

    thanks for your help
