I have Nero 5.5.6.4 and when I try to use the menu setup to have a BMP file and the movie info display just before the movie starts, The problem is that it displays the BMP and all the info just like I set it up in the prperties, but when I place it in my DVD player it just shows the start page I created and the movie will not start, if I skip the menu option in Nero, the movie plays fine......any help on getting my start menu's to play for my movies?

    Apex DVD AD 660 (stand-alone)

    Hi-Val (PC DVD)
    P-lll 800 128 PC-100 ram
    15 gig Maxtor
    ACER CD Burner

    Smart Ripper (to Rip)
    DVD2AVI (to sound encode)
    TMPGEnc ( to video encode)
    Nero (to burn)

P.S. any sugestions on the best settings using these programs or others to get the "ultimate" video/sound quality for my VCD's (NTSC)

At the menu screen on your apex push 1 on the remote.

OK, that works but what I am looking for is , when I insert the disc. I want my start page to come up for a few seconds then have the movie start on its own
. Is there any way to make this work, or do I need another burning program>?

by the way thank you very much for answering my post.

I've made some menues in nero myself but then i discovered a great app called VCDComposer.
My advice to you is to use VCDComposer instead of struggling to get nero working since nero's CD-menu creation isn't that good compared to others.

You can grab VCDComposer at: http://www.algonet.se/~pretzel/VCDComposer/vcdcomposer.html

By the way, Merry Christmas to all you guys!

  6. With Nero, in menu properties (right click menu track) change from "infinite" to "second" as you want. You can try VCDImager or TSCV for GUI, with these software you'll have more function for menu and chapters too. Mine, APEX660 doesn't play any type of XVCD very well so stick with standard or sevcd (sefy's template) when you need to fit more minute of movie. I always do SVCD because a better quality of picture and beside I can fit 60 mins in one CD.
