  1. How do you get Windows Explorer to automatically open to a certain directory like My Computer? I've done it before but forgot...and I can't seem to find it through Google..

In the "Target" box for the shortcut put:
    Code:
    C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE /n,/e,c:\thisdir\
Replace "c:\thisdir\" in the example above with the drive and directory you want Windows Explorer to open at.

The "/n" parameter tells windows to open a new instance of Windows Explorer.
The "/e" parameter says to open Windows Explorer in the default view.

Microsoft has a page with the commandline options for Windows Explorer here if you want more details.
