I want to get a dvd player for my car. Not for the video however. I want one to play DVD's loaded with mp3's.
Best Buy has one and Crutchfield has 2 that do this....one of them is the JVC KD-5100 and I can't remember the other.
However, these only work with minus r's....I did'nt even know people still used these!!!
Is there a DVD gigamp3 player that uses + r's in the $300 range?

    Thanks for any help.

not being a smartass here...but does it matter if it plays -'s or +'s? I still burn to both all the time and both are always readily available anywhere.
If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0

I dunno....I almost walked out of Best Buy with the recorder when I started thinking. I have gone through over 1000 dvd's over the years... all being +R's and just didn't want to screw around with 2 different formats.

And it could matter to some people because even though my recorder can handle both....many can handle only + R's ...AFAIK there are none that only record in -R.??

Also, I already have plenty on backups on +R's that I could use....I know discs are cheap (although I believe -R's are more??) and I could make more but that is not the point.

So, if possible I would rather buy one that does handles +R....if one exists....you would think there would be since it is the more popular format.

ok...what you said makes sense if you already have alot of them burned to +'s. And when I buy dvd's here...both formats are the same price. And please tell me why you think the +'s are the most popular format?

I just thought they were...don't have anything to back it up except that I don't know anyone that buys -r's and as far as I know ALL dvd writers support +r and not the other way around...but I may be wrong about that.
But this is not really that important.
I just want to know if there is a player out there that will support the +r's...if not I will probable buy the JVC I mentioned earlier.

    Thanks.
