First off let me say sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong area. But
had a quick question about this tuner/player/burner. I wanted to buy
it for my bf, but wanted to know if I record a program from tv and it's
broadcast in 5.1 surround sound like some tv shows are and in
Widescreen, then burn the show directly to DVD. Will it still be in
Widescreen and have the 5.1 sound when we go to play it on DVD player?

I have Comcast and they rent me a box every month that is a HD box and
when it stores it and I go to play it back later, it plays back in
Widescreen and in 5.1 Surround Sound. It just that it doesn't have a
burner in it to burn DVDs.

Also is this unit still gonna be around because after reading a few
post, it seems they discontinued it? It seems like a nice gift because
it also went on sale at bestbuy near me, so any help would be greatly
apprecaited.
